Therefore, there is need more than ever before, to evolve a sound method of integrating school-based assessment in the certification grades of secondary school students. Unfortunately, studies have shown that some teachers lacked competent experience in the practice of school-based assessment, while some award marks arbitrarily thereby bringing to question the validity and reliability of school-based assessment scores.
