The research surveyed the relationship between information literacy and use of electronic information resources for academic purposes by postgraduate students of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. Samples of 300 of postgraduate students within seven out 13 faculties were randomly selected. Data were collected using questionnaire designed to elicit response from respondents and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics methods percentages, mean, standard deviation, analysis of variance, correlation analysis and regression analysis. Low level of usage of electronic resources, in particular, full texts data bases is linked to lack of search techniques skills by many postgraduate students of the university to access the myriad of e-resources. There was significant relationship between information literacy skills and use of electronic information resources at α = 0.05 (P =0.34). Lack of adequate skills of postgraduate students resulted into the non encouragement of the expected research-led enquiry in using electronic information resources (EIRs) in this digital age. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) course be part of the curriculum of every postgraduate programme, with emphasis on e-information literacy.
